Review

The Contemporary English Version of the Bible is a recent translation made by the American Bible Society featuring the Scriptures in the type of English language used by common people. Unlike older translations, like King James' and Geneva, this new version makes the Good Book affordable to a wider range of persons, and not only to clerics and Bible scholars, through the use of the kind of language most people are used to, making the message and words of Jesus, His Apostles and the Lord Himself more understandable for all of us.
BibleMaximum offers this new version of the Scriptures as a module for their BibleMax software. As almost all of the Biblic modules of this software, the Contemporary English version interacts fully with other pre-installed modules, like commentaries and references. You will find a series of hyperlinks at right of each Bible verse, which you can click on for showing the respective commentary or reference. Also, you can click on the hyperlinked Bible verses appearing on the references and commentaries, and the appropriate verse will appear at the Bibles window.
You can have this modern version of the Bible, along with many other important texts, by ordering the free CD and paying only the duplication, postage and handling costs.
Advantages
  • Readable
  • Adapted to today's American English
Disadvantages
  • It only works with BibleMax software.
  • Can be obtained only by ordering the free CD.
